Questions From Tourism Teams
Does this tell us how many tourists visited?
No. It counts Airbnb homes and estimates stays on Airbnb. Your visitor counts remain the measure of tourists, and this data shows the part of the market they may not reach, town by town and month by month.
Can you use our own boundary?
Yes. Send a map file of the boundary, and the data will cover the homes inside it rather than a town or county.
How often is the data updated?
Every month. The Airbnb figures on this page cover the 12 months to October 2026.
Does it cover other platforms?
No. It covers Airbnb only, and every figure says so.
How accurate are the estimates?
The month order correlates with Eurostat at 0.93 to 0.99 across the areas tested, and the same month came out busiest in 12 of 12. The method page sets out each check and each limit.
